On Dec. 22, 2022, members of Congregation Emanu El and the community joined at Ed Hales Park to light the city Menorah and Menorahs community members brought out to share in this event. The event that started in 2018, “Light Up The Night,” is a community event to showcase and educate the public along with celebrating the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

The event was hosted and officiated by Cantor Jennifer Bern-Vogel, who started by explaining how we should be a community and against antisemitism in today's current state. Then she led the lighting of the menorahs and finished with traditional songs of the holiday that the community sang along to.
