Hillside Fire - San Bernardino

Around 3:45 on July 9th San Bernardino fire Department ME226 saw smoke on Paris Hill after returning from another call.

They reported about 2 acres of light brush burning rapidly spreading with structures being threatened. They started structure protection immediately and called the fire in.

One home received minor damage due to combustible material igniting on the roof, but was quickly extinguished. Another property received damage to fence.


In a statement from San Bernardino County Fire Battalion Chief Dan Wooters β€œThe fire burned 6 acres with one home damaged to the underside, The Fire has 10 engines with a total of 30 personnel, two Battalion Chiefs, and two investigators. There was a shared response with San Bernardino County Fire, San Manuel Fire Department, Sharif Aviation, and San Bernardino Police Department.”


The cause of the fire is under investigation but according to local residents, kids had been around there lighting fireworks.

Crews remained on-scene for three hours working on mop-up and a containment line construction.
